Another new category has been added to the blog, this one for the increasing TV and Cinema related posts. I’ve been receiving requests for it so hopefully “30nema” (read Cinema) will do the job! I have been going through the three years of archived posts today and backtagged hundreds of posts (almost regretting that I started!lol). I even updated other categories such as “The Gallery“, “The Fitting Room” and “Judged By the Cover” with some forgotten but related posts. I’m sure I’ve still missed a few posts here and there but for now this will have to do.

The image above (displaying a young handsome reviewer) is the very first appearance of Bia2 back in April 2003! By then was the transition from the personal DjSoltan.com to the public Bia2.com a fact. The word of mouth took care of the rest and voila here we are today, six years after!
Time flies when you are having fun, they say and in our case they happen to be one hundred percent right! We have had so much fun that we haven’t stopped the ride to really realize how far we have come! As a website and as people behind it. We have grown, and we keep on growing! Thanks to you and together with you! Its when we look at these six years in front-page review that we can see the leaps of progress! Here are some nostalgic glimpses into our history:
2004
2005
2006
2007
And the truly fun part is that this is only the beginning!! So stay tuned for years and years to come!
In our mission to put a smile on your face we once brought you the best Persian prank-calls on the net! Now we are kicking off our social joke-section! Its a forum for fun loving jokers out there to share their material with you and for you to read, laugh and rate them! Do you have the urge to be the first who shares that latest joke with the rest of us? Well now you have the chance to do that!
The submitted jokes that are featured on this section do not reflect the views of Bia2. This being said it is possible that people of different backgrounds, beliefs and preferences will be offended. This is not our intention, we assure you.
The jokes on this site are meant as jokes and nothing but jokes!
If you find yourself tolerant and self-distant enough to laugh at others and most importantly at yourself, then by all means stay and enjoy the heart and the humor. If not then feel free to leave and enjoy other sections of Bia2. We promise not to get offended!
P.S please keep in mind that this is the BETA version, give it a try, much more is on its way!

Now you can watch your favorite artists anytime, anywhere! This application also updates you frequently about the latest upcoming Persian events in your area. This way you won’t miss a single party!
I get emails from some of you guys asking me why it takes me so long to write a new review! First of all I must say that I fully understand and share your sentiments. Unfortunately time is the main villain here, not me. I have too many tasks and too little time! And as much as I love to write the reviews, there are other time-consuming (not to forget food-providing) projects and assignments which crave most of my attention and crave to be prioritized. I have always written the reviews as a hobby in my spare time, and perhaps its one of the main reasons that I today, a decade after, still find the same joy and motivation to write them! They have never been an obligation, but rather an aspiration. Back in the days I was able to write one review per week, I had much less to do both in terms of studies and work. Today I am doing both as well as 1001 other projects simultaneously, and if I am going to maintain the same level of quantity then I would have to cut down on the quality! Something which I am not sure if I am willing to do, neither do I think that you would want me to do so. So I try to keep the same level of quality, but cut down on the quantity instead. Down from four to two reviews per month. I just wanted to let you know that the new review is on its way, its being written and prepared. A review on Tara’s “The Gift”. So please be patient my friends, thanks!
Just wanted to let you guys know that if you see that some of the announced music videos haven’t been premiered yet its because the premier dates have been tentative and pushed back! So its not that we are bad-ghols! hehe! Thanks for your patience and understanding!
In case you have missed the big news, Bia2.com has branched out as music store! We have always done our best to promote the struggling Iranian music and encourage fans to support the survival of the music they love by buying it. At our store we will be providing you with some exclusive and selected music for a rather reasonable price. The first album to be available for download is Mehrshad’s brand new “Cheshmak”, check it out:
In case you haven’t noticed your BIA2 is celebrating its 5th birthday this year! Time has flied by and our veteran visitors remember the transition from the personal djsoltan.com to the people’s BIA2.com back in 2003. The ambition was to create a meeting place and forum for young Iranians around the world through entertainment and interaction! And today we are proud to say that we have managed to do exactly that and perhaps even a bit more! We were the very definition of grassroots cooperation and are the perfect example of how word-of-mouth does serves such genuine projects better than any commercial advertisement! “What” we are today is due to our efforts and principles but “where” we are today is thanks to your sincere support and assistance throughout these years!
We are constantly planning and navigating towards a more progressive and productive BIA2, but we try to do so without detaching ourselves from our origin and originality! So thank you for staying tuned!
There was a time a few months ago that I had not a single album to review, today mainly thanks to you my dear readers I have almost too many albums to review!lol Well there can never be too many but considering the little spare time I have at the moment with all the work, study and different time consuming projects it can sometimes be a bit stressful! But I’m determined to keep up the (at least) one-review-per-week pace that I started with five years ago, and its also give-and-take the time needed to make a fair judgment and evaluation of each album. So if you are sitting home and eagerly waiting for new reviews, don’t worry, dir yaa zood daare amma sookht va sooz nadaare! They’ll be coming up, in the order they are submitted!
A while ago, in reply to those who ask why I don’t review some of the albums, I posted a blog explaining the situation while providing a solution! That both singers and fans are welcome to submit albums for reviewing. And some of my dear readers have stepped up to the plate and helped out! I wanted to thank dear Leila and Amir A. for providing me with the following albums:
Hatef - Royaaye Aabi (Leila)
Kaveh Yaghmaei - Sokoote Sard (Leila)
Jooliet - Aayene (Amir A.)
Firoozeh - Zamoone (Amir A.)
I think that the artists should pay attention to what’s been done here and perhaps maybe taking the steps taken by their fans themselves in future! As it should be done! Thanks again my friends for your contribution, also on behalf of your fellow readers!
Merry Christmas everybody! Hope you’ve been really bad, cuz the Bad Santa here only brings goodies to bad girls and boys (well only girls, but don’t tell the boys! hehe! )! I thought kill two birds with one stone and leave you with a flashback! Once again to the 80’s and -for me- the BEST Christmas song there is, namely WHAM and their “Last Christmas”, which is unlike most Christmas songs unconventionally sad and about a break-up! Especially if you’ve both fallen in love and broke up on Christmas like I have years ago, but it still cheers me up and many others out there! When you think of Sweden you think of snow, but with the global warming a white Christmas gets more unusual every year! Even in Sweden!! So this video is also to set the mood and scenery for how a Christmas should be!
Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve received some of the most wanted albums and the review on Airport is being written as we speak! And its gonna be one of the loooooonger ones! Four pages have been written as we speak!! And after that a review on Moein’s latest is to come! So stay tuned!!
Sipping earl grey and chanting in Samad-Agha style:
Everyday I receive emails requesting, asking me why I don’t review this and that album and I’m sorry to say that the reason why I don’t is simply because I don’t have those albums! There is no tradition of systematic submission of albums for reviewing in our industry so in past I have traced down and paid for most albums from my own pocket and the rest provided by individual artists with open mind and “janbe” who understand the importance of constructive criticism. I live in Europe and lately due to lack of commercial interest from the consumers many of those few retailers that actually carried the albums have either gone bankrupt or only import albums after enough number of pre-orders! Not to mention the slow and uneven distribution of the industry which contributes to an even longer waiting for an order. So, everything gone hand in hand has caused the recent gap between the reviews, something which I’m working on but can do only so much.
However as an artist you are always welcome to submit your album or even as a fan as some fans have done in the past, you can easily submit an album that you wish to have reviewed via e-mail! In fact that has always been the purpose of my reviews, to engage both artists and fans in an exchange of information and feedback in order to help our beloved Iranian music in its progress!
The review on Sepideh’s “No Fear” is published! We’ve also improved the navigation in the review section for your browsing convenience to access older reviews on the artist you happen to read a review on!
