Mohsen Namjoo who was recently sentenced to five years in prison by the Iranian court for singing the holy words of the Quran to music is about to release his sophomore album in exile. The album entitled “Aakh” will be a collection of the artist’s older songs presented in a completely new rendering. The album which is being recorded and remixed in Italy will feature the actress Golshifteh Farahani, who recently starred in her first international role in “Body of Lies”, on the piano.

Namjoo says that the overall mood of the album will be in line with the public sentiments in the aftermath of the recent socio-political events in Iran. He is also planning an album for the next year, in which he intends to read the entire “The Alchemist” To music! “The Alchemist” is the internationally successful novel by the acclaimed author Paulo Coleho.
